OH my gosh... i never knew there'd be a day when i would say this but : I actually want that mess kit from the army!
So what happens if you want to eat and drink at the same time???
Aha! But what about cooking / cleaning? Will this be easy to cook in and easy to clean? And will it be durable? Scarly the handle snap off then how?
It looks cool, but man, I had a dirty mess tin just for cooking, and it served me fine for a long long time.
i have never used my mess mug since BMT...
Actually of the new mess kit, my only concern is:
How heavy are they?
man, as a recce, i hate all those new but heavier equipments...
my main concern would be how big it is. can squeeze into fieldpack side pocket when it is already overflowing with goretex and whatnot? can fit smaller items inside to economise space? it does look quite big in the picture...

well this is just the implements that I was looking for, all this is the perfect surivival kit in the case of you have to go to the mountain or well to the beach.
